Pre-school (3-5 Year olds)
Access to the Preschool room is gained through the main entrance, the buzzer on the inner door alerts staff of your presence and once they have identified you on the camera monitor they will release the door lock allowing you access. There will be a labelled hook in the coat cupboard in the entrance for your child’s coat and bag to be kept.
Children's play is free flow with staff planning activities based on children's individual interests alongside the monthly topic. When children transition into the pre-school room they are encouraged to become more independent to help them be prepared for school.
In the preschool room we hold the Nursery Education Funded sessions (NEF) – these sessions are educational sessions, we deliver these sessions from 8am-1pm or 1pm - 6pm 3 sessions per week. We work within the Practice Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage and to OfSTED regulations to provide activities that stimulate your child’s knowledge and development. NEF sessions can be taken as free sessions; term time only or deducted off fees (1 NEF session per half day session). Please ask a member of the management team for more information as to how the Nursery Education Fund can help you with your childcare costs.
Please note that Nursery Education Funding is only available once your child has reached 3 years old after the qualifying date, the Government have currently set these dates as 31st December for January intake, 31st March for April intake and 31st August for September intake.
We recommend that children in the preschool are already toilet trained, if your child is not toilet trained we would assist you in this matter – all children are changed immediately and with dignity if they have a toileting accident.
